Not. XHTML contains the same elements of the sort as that of the HTML 4.01. It is mentioned in the very first paragraph XHTML specification: “The significance of the elements and their attributes are defined in the W3C Recommendation for HTML 4”. From this perspective, the XHTML or HTML no difference exists.Some elements and attributes were forbidden (deprecated) already in HTML 4.01. Presentation elements to proscribe the right in favor of CSS, which is also the answer to the second myth: the advent of cascading style sheets to XHTML unrelated played with earlier.
